CONNECTION Emily + Trent

  • “It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like,
  • it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.” — Paul Caponigro

Connection. It's not a time in your life, or a two hour session you schedule with us so that you have the perfect smile in the newspaper. It's not 30 photos in a Facebook album or a new profile picture. It's not a chance to get instafamous or 100 repins. This shoot is all about who you are, right now. It's about your love today. Not some kind of weird timeless expression of who you will be in 50 years but a screen shot of what life looked like when you couldn't help but hold hands.

Emily + Trent got this entire concept without me every saying it. The journey IS the destination when it comes to wedding photography. I don't stop loving your photos when you walk down the aisle, and I don't huge you and say goodbye when you get your album. We invest so heavily in this with our couples simply so that we can be a part of the memories and the moments and be close enough to the emotion that we can feel the connection. I can't say enough about these two but I will say this. If every engagement session was of two young people wildly in love, willing to go anywhere and do anything in the name of fun - marriage itself would have a higher success rate. That may sound super deep but what I mean is this. If people were more interested in loving in the moment than living in the moment connection would be a permanent decision. We're so honored to be a part of these lives, and excited for the next connection.
