CONNECTION KELSEY + RONNIE
“She had blue skin,
And so did he.
He kept it hid
And so did she.
They searched for blue
Their whole life through,
Then passed right by-
And never knew.”
― Shel Silverstein
When your clients drive 6 hours for an engagement shoot you walk into it with all kinds of pressure in your head. The reality on this shoot is that Kelsey + Ronnie were a bit of a dream. Completely refreshing to work with a couple who is so comfortable with who they are. Ronnie isn't exactly the type of guy who ran out the week before this shoot and went shopping for the perfect outfits. Don't get me wrong, the way Kelsey melts around him and spent most of the shoot telling him how good she thought he looked was amazing but this guy is pretty comfortable in his own skin. I love when a guy can pull off being 100% masculine and still be 100% invested in the moment. There wasn't a single moment where Ronnie was too good for a little fun, and he didn't whine or complain about the time we spent together at all but don't let all of this fool you, those work boots and that camo shirt are completely authentic to who Ronnie is. Kelsey on the other hand is a bubbly bucket full of giggles. This girl is all smiles and has been excited about this shoot since before we booked it. They didn't ask once where we were going or what we were going to do on this session but were completely invested in being in the moment and letting the action happen. So after two hours of running around on a perfectly beautiful day with some gorgeous rain clouds rolling in and a nice brisk breeze here's the end result. If you know me at all you know I love the imperfection of my job. I love that our couples are willing to be real, to be present, to be in love. I'm not trying to shape reality with my photos - instead I'm trying to tell a story about two people and where they're at in life and do it in a way that will look amazing on their wall - and this was the perfect shoot to pull all of that off. Completely smitten by these two and excited to see Kelsey walk down a long aisle to Ronnie! I'm willing to bet they're pretty excited too.
