Dancing on Dickson. Kelly + Alex's wedding day.

I would like to be the air that inhabits you for a moment only. I would like to be that unnoticed and that necessary.

Kelly and Alex are a bit of a unicorn of a couple. Beautiful, kind, refined, sweet to each other and (wait for it) totally willing to let me take photos of anything I want without trying to direct it. This wedding day was so perfectly authentic. The smiles, the laughs, and even the editorial work styled shots were taken in the moment. These two planned and planned and planned (and hired a super awesome wedding planner : https://www.facebook.com/erinduncanevents/) so that on the day of they could just be present and it came together perfectly. From a first look that was a total surprise to Alex to vows that left them both in tears during the ceremony all the way to the most perfect sparkler exit in history this wedding day was so beautifully tasteful. I instantly clicked with these two in a really special way and I’m so excited for them to finally relive a few of my favorite moments from the wedding day! A few things totally stood out to me though :

  1. Alex’s tuxedo is perfect. The wedding industry has come a long way but way too often we still see grooms showing up looking like they’re headed to prom. Alex took the time to look good for Kelly, and his guests, and he pulled it off beautifully.

  2. Kelly’s smile is real. No fake laughs here. Kelly was happy all dang day and why is that important? Because most brides get swallowed up in details and stress which means they remember THAT instead of the good stuff.

  3. Kelly’s ring is so cool. Seriously - what on earth is that cut called? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a triangle diamond but I’m totally in love with it.

  4. The dance floor was packed - all - dang - night. I’ve seen this happen a lot, but it’s almost always in New England. Truth, nearly every wedding we shoot in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York is a blow out like this, but it’s rare to see this many people dance this hard in Arkansas. True statement : I was sore the next day. Shout out to DJ BROCK for making sure nobody even wanted to leave the dance floor. (https://www.djbrockentertainment.com/)

  5. There were tacos. Seriously - the reception ENDED, and the taco’s showed up. You want to be a hero at a wedding? Feed everybody again, AFTER the party. I only ate four of them.
