Jacob + Jordan. Engaged in the Ozarks
“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”
― Pablo Neruda,
Alright full disclosure here. It was cold. I mean that kind of cold that makes you rethink whether or not you’re crazy for even getting out of your pajamas that day kind of cold. We talked and talked about this shoot though and Jordan + Jacob weren’t rescheduling for anything. So - rain, sleet, snow, or just make you cuss under your breath cold we were doing it. All that said, for some reason I’ve noticed that when situations are tough like this sometimes we end up with the most beautiful work. Jacob + Jordan were guests at a wedding I was photographing late last year and I got to fall in love with the way they do love. Just playful and silly on the dance floor quickly gives way to a depth in the way they hold each other that is all but tangible in these images. No doubt these two have gone through some heartbreak in their lives but when they found each other they began to heal together. Jacob is the kind of guy that just boosts the confidence in the room. He’s a strong dude with a big laugh but he’s so sensitive with Jordan in the most quiet little whispers in her ear. Jordan is a business lady through and through. She’s bold, successful, passionate, and with Jacob just totally present. It’s a big day for us on this blog. Launching this new website has been years in the making. Brandon did such a great job making it for us and I couldn’t have chosen a better couple as my very first addition to this new blog. I’ve spent years wandering around the Ozarks with a camera in my hands. Shooting engagement sessions with some of the most beautiful couples I’ve ever met has seemed to culminate into 2020 and what we have planned for this year in such a beautiful way. It was a cold day for photos, but if Jordan + Jacob are any example of what our year and our couples ahead of us are going to be like I can’t wait to see what comes next.
