Reflections on the 2024 Wedding Season
As the 2024 wedding season winds down, I’m taking a moment to reflect on what has truly been an incredible year. From the heartwarming weddings we had the privilege of documenting across the United States, to international destinations that took us to places we never dreamed we'd visit, this year has been one for the books. More than anything, it’s been a year of connection—a reminder of why we do what we do as photographers—and why we consider it a true honor to capture one of the most important days in a couple’s life.
If you’ve been following along with my journey, you know that we’re based in Bentonville, Arkansas, but our love for wedding photography has taken us all over the country—and beyond. Whether we were shooting a stunning mountain elopement in Canada, a glamorous ballroom wedding in New York, or an intimate vineyard ceremony in Fayetteville, it’s been nothing short of magical.
At the heart of it all, the real heroes are the couples who trust us to tell their story. Without you, we wouldn't have had the opportunity to explore these beautiful places, meet extraordinary vendors, and build new relationships that will last a lifetime. So, this blog post is dedicated to you—the couples who made us feel like family, the brides and grooms who opened their hearts to us on their most important day, and the ones who made 2024 an unforgettable year for our team.
A Year of Travel, New Friends, and Unforgettable Experiences
This year, we had the privilege of traveling to weddings across the United States, and even a few international destinations shooting a really diverse set of venues even here at home in Arkansas. The one thing that stood out to me the most was how warm and welcoming everyone was, no matter where we went. We’ve always believed in the power of creating personal connections, and I have to say—our couples truly made us feel like part of their families from the very first meeting. Whether it was a bride welcoming us with open arms as we arrived at her childhood home, or a groom laughing with us as we documented the nerves and excitement before the ceremony, the genuine love and kindness we received was truly humbling.
In Bentonville, we have an incredible community of wedding vendors, from florists to planners, but this year we were fortunate to work with so many amazing new faces across the U.S. and beyond. From top-notch coordinators in New York to talented florists in Fort Worth, we built relationships with some of the best in the business. Collaborating with such a diverse group of professionals only elevated the experiences we were able to give our couples, and we can’t wait to work with many of them again in the future.
The most special thing about this season wasn’t the places we visited or the professionals we met—it was the couples we had the pleasure of serving. Each wedding we documented was as unique as the couple themselves, and we felt incredibly lucky to be able to witness so many different versions of love.
The True Heroes: The Brides and Grooms
I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again—our couples are the true stars of the show. We are so incredibly grateful for each and every couple who chose us to be part of their wedding day. But it’s not just about the photos we take—it’s about the connections we build, the memories we help create, and the love we get to witness firsthand.
One of my favorite moments this season was a wedding we captured near Avalon, New Jersey. The bride and groom had a vision for their day that was nothing short of magical—an entire day centered as much around the friends and family joining as the two people getting married. From a first look surrounded by cheering bridal party friends to a beach side wedding that had fog magically blow in halfway through, to an elegant dinner under a clear tent dripping with beautiful florals the entire wedding was a little extra magic. It’s these personal connections that remind me why we go the extra mile to travel wherever our couples need us. Whether we’re in our hometown of Bentonville or flying across the world, we’re there to tell your story—to capture the moments that matter most and create a visual legacy that will last for generations. No matter the location, no matter the wedding style, our goal is always the same: to provide couples with timeless, heartfelt images that will allow them to relive their wedding day over and over again.
A Global Journey: Destination Weddings and Elopements
This year, we were fortunate enough to photograph a few destination weddings that took us to some truly breathtaking locations. One of the highlights was a stunning Cabo wedding at the famous “CAPE” hotel, where the bride and groom said their vows against the backdrop of endless ocean and the most incredible sunset. There’s something so romantic about being in a place where light and nature meet in perfect harmony. We spent several days with the couple and their closest family and friends, capturing not just the wedding day, but the entire experience of the journey—from the pre-wedding dinner to the final dances under the stars.
Then, there was the intimate elopement in Fayetteville at St. Catherines Bell Gable, where a couple chose to exchange vows in front of just a few important people along side their kids and then escape with me for a few moments alone simply being present and soaking up the intentionality behind the promises they had shared publicly. Every couple is different, and the destinations they choose often reflect their unique personalities and values. Whether it’s a remote beach or a picturesque village, we are always thrilled to help couples bring their dream wedding to life.
